Influential Nuclear Women In History

Below we celebrate some of the most influential women in history that positively impacted the nuclear industry.

Marie Curie

Marie Curie was a physicist and chemist who made pioneering contributions to the field of radioactivity.

She was the first woman to be awarded a Nobel Prize in Physics (1903) and the first person to win two Nobel Prizes in different fields (Physics in 1903 and Chemistry in 1911).

Her work was foundational for the development of nuclear physics and the discovery of new radioactive elements.

Lise Meitner

Lise Meitner was an Austrian physicist who was part of the team that discovered nuclear fission, which is the process by which the nucleus of an atom is split into two or more smaller nuclei.
